About The Rotary Club of Sydney Cove: “The Coves”
The Rotary Club of Sydney Cove is one of Sydney’s largest clubs. We are a diverse group of passionate and like-minded people with the common goal of giving back to the community we live and work in. What sets us apart is that we meet on a boat in the beautiful Sydney Harbour.
We are an irreverent bunch with fun and joy as our priorities. We do though like to mix serious community driven work with our fun and our fully committed to our local and international projects.
What makes “The Coves” special is its people. We are a diverse group of men and women. We range in ages from young professionals looking for opportunities such as leadership through to our seasoned Rotarians who are great mentors. We are from all walks of life as well as many countries, bringing a variety of knowledge and experience to everything we do. Our conversation is always lively and our social and project calendar always busy.
You’ll find plenty of opportunities to get involved in over thirty community projects, with the added benefit of networking and forming friendships with over 100 club members.
We meet each Friday for breakfast from 7:15am to 8:30am aboard a Captain Cook Cruise vessel, moored at Eastern Pontoon on the boardwalk to the Opera House, Circular Quay, Sydney. Our meetings cost $35 and come with a hot and cold breakfast. During our meetings we always have a speaker, these range from journalists to scientists and everything in between. It is like your very own weekly TED talk.
Every year in November we hold one large charity fundraiser. This is the Rotary Solas Regatta in conjunction with the cruising yacht club of Australia. Find out more about this here – https://www.rotarysolascharityregatta.com.au/
What is Rotary?
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary’s people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.
Our mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
