Need to know a little more information?

I don’t know anything about Rotary, what should I do?

Come along to one of our Friday meetings and see what it is all about.

I am visiting from overseas, can I come to a meeting?

Absolutely! Whether you are a Rotarian or just interested, please come to one of our Friday meetings.

What are your meeting costs?

Every meeting consists of a cold breakfast, some lively discussions and a guest speaker. Our meetings cost $27 per person, or $20 for students and those under 30.

What are the ages of people in the club?

We are a varied club and welcome all ages. We have a wide range of people from their late Teens to 80s!

Are there women in the club?

We are close to 50 % women.

How much do I have to commit?

We understand that lives are busy. We have a range of people from young professionals kicking off their careers to people coming into retirement. We understand that the time you can commit to the club will be varied and it may change on a month to month basis.

Is Rotary aligned to the Freemasons or the Christian Church?

Rotary is its own organisation, we are not religion or politically aligned and welcome every person. We are also not aligned to the Freemasons or any other organisation.

Are partners welcome?

100%. In fact we have some couples who actually MET through Rotary. Partners are welcome as either members or as visitors.

Roughly, our meetings look like the below:

  • 7.15am – Everyone comes aboard the boat
  • 7.25am – We sit down to cold breakfast, President’s Welcome, key announcements
  • 7.50am – We have a fun ‘fine’ session – a charity contribution of a few gold coins

What is the biggest charity event you run?

Throughout the year we run various projects. These can be found on ‘Our Causes’ page.

Our biggest event by far is our yearly Yacht Regatta.

We run the Rotary SOLAS Charity Regatta alongside the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. You can find more information here.

This event has over 300 people involved, including sponsors, their guests and employees, yachting crew, volunteers and CYCA teams. Over 40 world class yachts who race around the iconic Sydney Harbour for the afternoon.

The Regatta also includes a lunch before the racing, a post-race sausage sizzle and awards ceremony, and various auctions and raffles. This is by far the biggest event in our calendar. To date we have raised over $2.3M for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation
